Teacher notes; the Solar System

This lesson covers 'Earth in space', level 'C' from the 5-14 document.

'Pupils must describe the Solar System in terms of the Earth, Sun and planets'.

'Pupils must link temperature of the planets to their relative positions and atmospheres'.

In this lesson, pupils are shown an animation of all planets in our solar system and their relative positions to the Sun.

Information on the size and atmospheres of each planet is also given. Pupils can select a particular planet, and an image is shown with all details needed.

A Quiz and Wordsearch is included to test the pupils.

To help pupils remember the positions of the planets relative to the Sun, they could perhaps make up a rhyme or 'mind map.'
